We believe that Social and Natural Capital - things like health, literacy, trust, clean water and biodiversity - belong in the commons. That means they effectively belong to every living human. As such, every person has a moral right to benefit from the use of the commons. The third stage of the Universal Commons intends to make this inherent moral truth a reality.

The third stage of the Universal Commons Project is to symbolically claim all the Earth’s S&N Capital on behalf of all of humanity. Each living person will be given one indivisible and unsaleable share in the Universal Commons, and will be entitled to receive a dividend from any use and improvement of S&N Capital when it is leased on the Universal Commons Exchange.

This will also turn the Universal Commons into a universal income that will spread wealth throughout the world, lifting people out of poverty and reducing inequality. That will help to bring about a truly just economy for all.
